Spin Master and Universal Products & Experiences have partnered up to release Hellbreak, a new horror TCG co-designed by Ghost Galaxy Games.
Universal Monsters are coming to the world of trading card games in Hellbreak TCG. This newly announced TCG pits different Universal Monster characters against each other in a fight to the bitter end. The first card set features different monsters from movies ranging from classic characters to horror icons of the late 20th century. Universal’s Monsterverse will be the creative cornerstone of this TCG product.
“Hellbreak brings together two of the hottest trends, horror and TCGs,” said Doug Wadleigh, President, Spin Master Toys. “With Universal Products & Experiences as our flagship partner, and other major studios soon to be announced, we’ve created an enticing property unlike anything the TCG category has ever seen”
Details about how the game actually plays have not been unveiled yet. However, Ghost Galaxy’s CEO Christian T. Petersen teased a few concepts that are baked into the design:
“Hellbreak was designed to feel dangerous, cinematic, and endlessly replayable,” said Petersen. “Every monster, mechanic, and aspect is built to create unforgettable and terrifying moments at the table; the kind players will be talking about long after the match ends.”
This game will arrive in Fall 2026. Ghost Galaxy Games will also release The Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation, the classic strategy game by Reiner Knizia, into retail (see “‘The Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation’“).
