Dungeon Crawler Carl was the number one title on the chart of the Top 20 best-selling Adult graphic novels according to Circana BookScan data for July 2026 (7/5/2026 – 8/1/2026) provided to ICv2.
That’s right: Dungeon Crawler Carl, a May release, sold well enough in its third month that it surpassed Vol. 30 of Jujutsu Kaisen, also a May book. Overall, Jujutsu Kaisen may be cooling slightly; there are only seven volumes in the Top 20, compared to eight in June (see “June 2026 Circana BookScan“), but conversely, the number 2 book is Vol. 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen, so new readers are clearly jumping on board. Vol. 30 is the final volume of the series.
Dungeon Crawler Carl is one of just two non-manga volumes in the Top 20; the other is The Adventure Zone: Story and Song, the sixth and final volume of the Dungeons & Dragons-inflected adventure story that was a massive best-seller when the first volume was released (see “July 2018 NPD BookScan“).
VIZ Media still owns the chart, with 13 out of the Top 20 volumes, but Kodansha Comics had three and Yen Press had two, both first volumes of manga that are supported by anime (or will be, in the case of The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy At All).
