Konami Cross Media NY Inks Publishing Deals for 'Yu-Gi-Oh!'

With Random House Children’s Books and Panini Group; Deals Key In on Gen Alpha Demographic

Konami Cross Media NY, Inc. has inked new publishing deals for Yu-Gi-Oh! with Random House Children’s Books and Panini Group.

The Random House Children’s Books deal helps PRH expand its anime portfolio with kid-friendly books and collectible offerings. They will release their new Yu-Gi-Oh! titles throughout the U.S. and Canada as well as in different territories and on military bases. One book slated for release is Yu-Gi-Oh!: GO Rush!! – The Official Sticker Book, which serves as an example of what some of these new books may look like.

“We plan to elevate the brand’s awareness by promoting our Yu-Gi-Oh! books at school bookfairs and book clubs as well as through collaborations with Konami Cross Media NY,” said Author and Editorial Director Dennis Shealy of Random House Children’s Books. “We look forward to joining collective forces to forge unique effective ways to cross-market and promote to our respective audiences and fan-base.”

The Panini Group deal is similar, but it centers more on introducing Yu-Gi-Oh! titles into Europe, South America, and Central America. They are focused primarily on expanding into Spanish and French language markets with different sticker books and other collections. Both deals seem to be keying in on selling merch to the Gen Alpha demographic.

“As we focus on engaging with the youngest Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, those born between 2010 and 2025, who represent the first generation to grow up immersed in technology; we are committed to creating unique and meaningful experiences tailored to their world,” said Licia Dallolio, Senior Licensing Manager of Panini Group. “By understanding how Gen Alpha interacts with the world, we aim to shape future trends and strengthen the brand’s connection with its next generation of followers.”
