Dynamite Entertainment will release Army of Darkness – The Board Game, a new cooperative tower defense game, into retail soon.
The announcement of this game’s release comes over seven years since the initial announcement of the licensing agreement (see “‘Army of Darkness: The Board Game’“). In this game, designed in collaboration with Lynnvander Studios, players take on the role of Ash Williams as he defends Lord Arthur’s castle against the onslaught of Deadites. The goal of the game is for players survive the siege until Evil Ash arrives, and then defeat him before he can steal the Necronomicon.
The game’s components have changed a slightly from the original announcement. Instead of miniatures, this game comes with character standees. The miniatures for the game can be purchased in a separate expansion pack for $49.99. This game is for one to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 60 to 90 minutes. It will retail for $49.99.
