Steve Jackson Games will release Munchkin 2E, a new edition of the satirical fantasy card game, into retail on September 30, 2026.
The new edition of Munchkin was initially offered up via BackerKit in early 2026 (see “‘Munchkin 2E’ Hits BackerKit“). Munchkin 2E features an array of tweaks and gameplay upgrades, such as a new streamlined setup and the addition Gold Pieces, which can be stolen from monsters, receive change for selling items, level up, or bribe friends. The game also has a more streamlined rules set and is easier to set up and play.
This game is for three to six players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 60 minutes. It will retail for $39.95.
