Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Sun is coming from Dark Horse Books in April 2027.
In conjunction with Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast, Dark Horse Books has announced a trilogy of stand-alone graphic novels, beginning with Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Sun. It’s written by Dan Abnett, illustrated by Nil Vendrell, colored by Mattia Iacono, and lettered by Buddy Beaudoin, with cover art by Jeff Stokely.
The story has a team of antiheroes — including a gladiator and a cannibal — fighting to survive in the wastelands of Athas and escape the city of Tyr. This first volume is a 56-page hardcover priced at $17.99 and publishing on April 20, 2027. That’s around the same time as the Dark Sun miniatures coming from WizKids (see “‘Dark Sun’ Miniatures“).
Dark Horse began publishing D&D comics with The Fallbacks in 2025 (see “First ‘D&D’ Comic“).
