Exclusive: Ignition Press Announces 12 New Creators

In the run-up to New York Comic Con, Ignition Press has announced a new slate of 12 creators who will be working on projects for the publisher.

The lineup includes David Rubín, Molly Mahan, Matthew Dunn, Maxine Zilkenat, Michael W. Conrad, Marley Zarcone, Morgan Hampton, Noel Kelly, Nuno Plati, Michael Dialynas, Justin Jordan, and Mike Norton.

“Sometimes being Editor-in-Chief of Ignition Press is like being the proverbial kid in the candy store,” Ignition Press Editor-in-Chief Jamie S. Rich said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  “Or maybe the kid in the comic book shop, as I get to browse through the racks and pinpoint my favorites and pursue the talent that excites me. In this case, it’s a bit of everything.  I am reuniting with past collaborators, like Michael W. Conrad, Mike Norton, and Marley Zarcone, and I am also working with folks I respect but have not worked with before, like David Rubín and Morgan Hampton.  Or then there are special people like Maxine Zilkenat that most folks haven’t heard of yet, but whom I met at NYCC in 2025 and just knew I had to see step out onto the main stage.”

Dialynas is a Greek artist who has collaborated with James Tynion IV on The Woods and Wynd (see “Tynion IV and Dialynas Are Back with More ‘Wynd’“) and is also a contributor to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Conrad is a writer whose credits include numerous DC, Marvel, and Valiant titles as well as Magic: The Gathering: Jace (see “Dark Horse Plan’s ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Series Featuring Jace“) and Legendary’s Toxic Avenger anthology (see “Toxic Avenger Looms Large This Summer“), as well as his own creator-owned works.

Jordan is the writer of Luther Strode (see “Image to Publish Two 15th Anniversary Issues of ‘Luther Strode’“), Green Lantern: Guardians, the upcoming Frostpunk 1886 graphic novel (see “‘Frostpunk 1886’“), and the webtoon Urban Animal; he is also a contributor to Oni Press’s EC Comics line.

Norton is the creator of the Eisner-winning Battlepug and the artist for Krypto: Last Dog of Krypton (see “New ‘Krypto’ Series“), Grumble, and Revival, which has been adapted into a Netflix series.

Zarcone was the artist for the Harvey-nominated Shade: The Changing Girl (see “The Young Animal Remix“); she has also worked on TMNT, Madame Xanadu, Superman: Red and Blue, and other titles.

Rubín is a Spanish artist who collaborated with Matt Kindt on Ether and is working with him again on Space Scouts (see “‘Space Scouts’“); he is also the artist for Paul Pope and Aurora West’s The Rise of Aurora West (see “Prequel to ‘Battling Boy’“) and Santiago García’s Eisner-nominated Beowulf graphic novel (see “New Graphic Novel Brings ‘Beowulf’ to Life“).

Mahan is a former Vertigo editor whose projects include Young Animal and The Sandman; she is currently Editrix Maxima at Three Worlds/Three Moons.
