Wizards of the Coast teased a KPop Demon Hunters Secret Lair drop set, for Magic: The Gathering, as part of their Corn Maze Superdrop.
On September 29, 2026, WotC posted a cryptic ad for the Corn Maze Superdrop that featured pictures of a Corn Maze with various clues hidden amongst the corn stalks. The clues included a magpie with a hat, a clock with 13 hours, a hand holding crystal balls, and a couple of pumpkins with faces on them. If the viewer ignored the content of the image almost entirely and looked at the bottom text of the images, there was text acknowledging that the Marvel, KPop Demon Hunters, and The Jim Henson Company/Labyrinth Enterprises trademarks and copyrights were used with permissions as part of this teaser image.
This, naturally, indicates that the new drop sets will likely have something to do with the aforementioned IPs. In the Q3 earnings report of 2025, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks confirmed that there would be a KPop Demon Hunters Secret Lair set coming in 2026 (see “‘Magic: The Gathering’ Growth“). As the year is short on months to release new products, this is probably the Secret Lair drop set that Cocks was referring to back then.
As for the Labyrinth and Marvel teasers, Labyrinth has been around the block and back again as a games license, most recently as a board game (see “Mantic and River Horse“). It is unsurprising that this IP would show up on TCG cards as a one-off release. However, it is surprising that WotC would license Labyrinth from The Jim Henson Company for Magic, and not somehow package in The Dark Crystal license as well, another IP that would inherently lend itself to a fantasy setting.
WotC could do a number of different things for Halloween with the Marvel license. The most obvious, based on the pumpkins sitting in the corn maze pictures, is to just release some kind of cool Hobgoblin-themed drop set. They could also do a Marvel Zombies drop set or do Ghost Rider, Werewolf By Night or Midnight Sons drop sets (all of which are Halloween-themed). A new Ghost Rider movie is slated to arrive in 2028 (see “Best in Shows — 2028“).
