Hasbro has disclosed that a data breach revealed employee personal and financial information.
The disclosure was made via data breach notification template letters filed with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office on August 28, 2026 (first reported by BleepingComputer). The letters stated that there had been a data security incident, and employee information possibly affected by this incident may have included employees’ names, email, address, phone number, national ID number, or financial information. The personal and financial information that was affected by the incident varied per individual employee.
The letters do not state exactly how many individuals were impacted in total. However, the Massachusett’s AG’s 2026 Data Breach Notification Report stated that 436 residents of the state were affected by the Hasbro breach. Hasbro had reported that they were hacked to the SEC on April 1, 2026 (see ” Hasbro Gets Hacked“). The hack, which occurred on March 28, 2026, was not specifically linked to this incident by the paperwork filed with Massachusetts AG.
Hasbro had also reported, in their Q2 results (see “Marvel Super Heroes’ Passes ‘Lord of the Rings’ “), that “direct incremental expenses related to the unauthorized access were $11 million during the three and six months ended June 28, 2026, and the revenue impact on the business was estimated at approximately $25 million.” The company also mentioned that they expect to incur more expenses related to this incident in the future.
