As Erik Larsen’s Savage Dragon approaches its milestone 300th issue, Image Comics will begin collecting the series in compendium form, hefty paperbacks with a high page count. Savage Dragon Compendium, Vol. 1, will include The Savage Dragon #1-3, an expanded version of the original three-issue miniseries that set the stage for the ongoing series, and Savage Dragon #1-44. The 1,088-page paperback will go on sale on November 18, 2026, in comic shops, with a direct market exclusive variant cover, and on December 15 in bookstores. MSRP is $64.99.
The Savage Dragon was one of first three launch titles for Image Comics when the publisher opened its doors in 1992, the others being Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn, and it is notable for being the longest-running full color comic series by a single creator; Larsen is both the artist and the writer (see “Preview: ‘Savage Dragon’ #254-256 Retro Style Cover Variants”).
