Boardova Games revealed 1984: Unperson, a new game based on George Orwell’s 1984 novel, which will hit retail on November 1, 2026.
In this game, players face the realities of living in a totalitarian regime and the price of making individual choices. Over the course of five rounds of play, players will be tasked with fulfilling the directives or becoming an “unperson” (someone who is erased from society secretly). Each turn, a Responsible Executor reveals a Directive card, and players can take three actions when it is their turn: draw an Event, then play the Event from their hand into the City, and then move their character into a City Event.
Each round forces players to make the decision to obey or rebel; the goal of the game is to fulfill five Directives and for players to reach their secret Aspiration. This game is for one to five players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 60 minutes. It will retail for $24.99.
