Wizards of the Coast unveiled Secret Lair x MSCHF: The Zeta Set, a new drop set for Magic: The Gathering, which will be available on the Chaos Vault site on September 2, 2026 at Noon ET.

This story was first revealed as an exclusive on Polygon, and later addressed on Principal Magic Designer Gavin Verhey’s X account. The set is a collaboration between the Brooklyn artist collective known as MSCHF (see “‘Magic’ MSCHF’“) and WotC to create a DTC offering of desirable reprints with playtest card treatments that are a homage to Magic’s Gamma playtest cards from 1992 (see “Playtest”). This set is unique because it comes in randomized booster packs, each of which retail for $19.92.

The cards inThe Zeta Set packs are only legal in formats where they are currently playable. This is the first time a Secret Lair set has included actual booster packs with commons, uncommons, rares, and mythic rares; they had previously included one and two-card boosters in other drops (see “30th Anniversary“). Some of the reprints included in this set are Birds of Paradise, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and Chrome Mox. Customers will be limited to purchasing 12 boosters each (while supplies last).
