Nintendo revealed a deeper look at Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave during a dedicated Nintendo Direct, outlining its time-travel story, strategic combat systems and exploration features ahead of the game’s Sept. 17 launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Set in the prosperous Dagdan Empire, the story begins five years after the Heroic Games when the revived demon god Balor threatens the world, prompting the goddess Sothis to entrust players with changing history through Fortuna’s time-travel powers. Players can experience four distinct story paths centered on Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda, with progress tracked separately for each campaign while allowing players to switch between them. Outside of turn-based battles, players can prepare for matches by exploring the capital city of Dagsion, completing quests, recruiting allies, visiting shops, temples, inns and training facilities, taking certification exams to unlock new classes and venturing across the world map to explore dungeons and skirmishes.

Battles feature a wide range of Beginner, Specialty and Advanced classes, Combat Arts, powerful Blaze Arts unique to each hero and Fortuna’s Blessing, which lets players rewind to any previous point during combat to rethink their strategy. Nintendo also confirmed pre-orders are available now on Nintendo eShop alongside the $119.99 Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Dagdan Collection, which includes a steel game case, art cards, a Dagda map and an art book. Ahead of launch, select music from the game will be added to Nintendo Music later today, a Fire Emblem theme will arrive in the Nintendo Today! app tomorrow and a new Ask the Developer interview will be published Sept. 15.
