Pushes Back the Game’s Release Date, Shows Off Prototypes for Card Treatments; New Card Images Revealed

Spin Master offered up a number of updates on their upcoming Hellbreak TCG at Gen Con 2026.

The most significant news about Hellbreak TCG to come out of Gen Con 2026 was the addition of Jason Voorhees to the growing lineup of monsters that will be available to play with in future sets of the game.  Jason joining the game essentially also adds Horror, Inc. and Gun Media to the growing list of collaborators with Spin Master for the game (see “Collaborators for ‘Hellbreak TCG’“).  Paramount had also been added to this list of licensing collaborators, according to a sign posted in their exhibit hall booth, which could also be related to the Friday the 13th license (as this particular license is divided up amongst a number of companies for different reasons).

The Hellbreak TCG release date is also in the process of being pushed back to Q1 2027.  Spin Master is still planning to have some type of launch event in October 2026 (see “A ‘Dawn of Terror’“), but the actual release of the game’s first set into stores will be more towards the beginning of February 2027

Spin Master also showcased the card treatments for the first set.  They showed off Dracula and Jaws Blood-foil prototype cards with embossed splashes of color, which in their final version, will likely be foiled out.  They also revealed a movie poster-inspired Bride of Frankenstein card treatment prototype.
