Simon & Schuster will release Remonstered! The Monsters Know What They are Doing, a new RPG book, into retail on October 6, 2026.
This book, written by Keith Ammann (see “‘Dungeons & Dragons 5E Encounter Cards’“), is a revised edition of The Monsters Know What They’re Doing designed to help DMs better understand their monsters and how to use them in battle. Practically everyone who has played D&D has been in an encounter where the flow of play has been bogged down by wonky monster actions or movement, which are often determined by DMs on the fly. This book provides DMs with ways of making monster combat more deliberate and planned as well as offers a way to develop monster battle plans before they run their game session. It features updated monster’s tactics and stat blocks to reflect the latest D&D books and new tips on battle preparation, choosing minions, and more.
