Wizards of the Coast revealed new details on Reality Fracture, a new in-universe booster set for Magic: The Gathering, which releases on October 2, 2026.
Aside from product line details and a brief plot synopsis (see “‘Magic: The Gathering – Reality Fracture’“), there hasn’t been too much information on Reality Fracture until this past weekend at MagicCon: Amsterdam, where WotC revealed a lot more. This set caps off a story arc in Magic involving the creation of an Echoverse by Jace Beleren. The Echoverse was created to be a world free of Nicol Bolas, Eldrazi, and the Phyrexians, but something went awry and now Jace’s creation is threatening to destroy the multiverse. In short, for those familiar with DC comics, Jace created Magic’s version of Bizzaro World and now the other planeswalkers have to deal with it.
The set features an array of Echoverse cards that pay homage to already existing Magic cards. As an example, there is an Enlightened Confidant card that allows a player to draw cards if they gained life. It is an Echoverse version of Dark Confidant, which allows a player to draw cards for losing life (see “R.I.P. Ron Spears“). Also, as expected, there are a few planeswalkers in this set, both sparked and desparked; Chandra, Jace, Liliana, Ajani, and Garruk all make appearances on cards in this set.
There are all kinds of card treatments for collectors to chase. The serialized Headliner card for this set is Bloodline Recollector; the serialized version is XXX/500. The three main card treatments in this set are Shattered Mirror cards, Borderless Echoed Cards, and Braintwister cards. There are also Japanese Showcase cards in this set for players to collect.
