PSA released an update on their grading backlog via social media.
On June 2, 2025, PSA announced that they had shut down their Value grading tier due to a 10 million card submission backlog (see “Shut Down Value Grading Tiers“). Even after the shut down had been announced, the backlog ballooned to 14 million card submissions (customers who created a submission before June 2, 2026 for Value tier grading had 45 days to ship their cards). On June 30, 2026, PSA issued the following update via social media:
“While submissions from the spike we saw following our pause announcement are still arriving, we have received fewer than anticipated. Our current backlog is at approximately 12 million units and trending down, as our operations team is working overtime and weekends to ensure continued progress.”
The backlog update comes as PSA approaches The National Sports Collectors Convention (see “The National Sports Collectors Convention“), which takes place from July 29 to August 2, 2026 in Rosemont, Illinois. PSA is taking submissions and offering on-site grading at that show.
