Allplay Announces Summer Releases

Allplay has revealed plans to release two new games this summer:  Golden Goal kicking off on June 16 and Bitewing Games’ Trailblazers:  Travel Edition launching August 31.

Golden Goal is a tiny-sized recreation of what the world calls football and the U.S. calls soccer. Two players become team managers in a match that has ended in a draw and must find a way to score first in sudden-death overtime.  They must position their players in the best possible way to get a chance to score a goal while simultaneously protecting their own goal.

Golden Goal is played on a cloth playmat representing the soccer field, ten wooden player pawns, a ball token, and a single die.  This compact game is suitable for two players ages eight and up and plays in around 15 minutes.  MSRP is $9.00.  Designed by Corne van Moorsel (Habitats, Nova Luna), with artwork by Sai Beppu (Trio).

In Trailblazers, players draft tiles to build routes for hiking, biking, and kayaking. Unlike most tile-laying games, here players can even overlap their routes to open more options.  The goal is to create longer trails, but care must be taken as only routes that loop back to camp are eligible to score.

This version of the 2023 title features a clamshell case with a carabiner to fasten it to your pack, 178 cards, and 60 animal tokens.  Includes the Animals and Adventurers expansions and rules for solo play.  Intended for one to four players, ages eight and up, plays in about half an hour.  MSRP is $25.00.  Created by Ryan Courtney (Pipeline, Curious Cargo), with artwork by Seth Lucas

This summer will also see the release of the new edition of Kevin Nesbitt’s Container (see “Allplay Announces ‘Container’”).
