Vala Foundry and Vault Comics announced Barbaric: The Board Game, a new cooperative board game.
The new cooperative battler is based on the Barbaric comic book, which is also being adapted as a streaming series by Netflix (see “Netflix to Adapt ‘Barbaric’“). In the board game, players will hack and slash their way through hordes of enemies as a band of cursed heroes. They will traverse a hexagonal map to engage the enemies, and use action points to activate their savage abilities and defeat them. The game runs on a sword-and-sorcery combat system called Frenzy, which involves dice rolls to determine outcomes in battle. The goal of the game is for players to survive the waves of enemies, defeat the Overlord, and lift their curse.
This game is for one to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 to 60 minutes. It will be sent onto the Gamefound platform for crowdfunding soon.
