Two DC Comics Compact Comics Editions are coming summer 2026.
The first collects the video game-inspired Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One, written by Tom Taylor with art by Jheremy Raapack, Mike S. Miller, and more. When Superman loses the person dearest to him, he becomes a dictator and starts ruling the world to enforce peace at any cost. Batman sets out to stop him in an action-packed showdown.
The story, originally a digital-first comic, inspired an animated movie in 2021 (see “Warner Bros. Plans ‘Injustice’“).
Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One: DC Compact Comics Edition is out July 21 with 416 pages priced at $9.99.
Coming August 4 is Dark Knights: Metal: DC Compact Comics Edition, collecting Dark Knights: Metal #1-6 with Batman: Lost #1 and Dark Knights Rising: The Wild Hunt #1. It’s written by Scott Snyder with art by Greg Capullo and Jonathan Glapion.
Rare metals grant great power and a connection to the Dark Multiverse in this Batman-focused story, first collected in paperback in 2019 (see “DC’s ‘Dark Days’ and ‘Dark Nights’“), with an Absolute Edition released in 2022 (see “The Absolute Treatment“).
Dark Knights: Metal: DC Compact Comics Edition is out August 4 with 280 pages priced at $9.99.
These two titles join a number of other Compact Comic Editions out this year (see “DC Lines Up More Compact Comics For 2026” and “More Coming to Compact Comics“).
