Papercutz, which usually publishes children’s graphic novels, has opted for a comics format for its first Star Wars title, Mandalorian and Grogu: Danger in the Dark. The creative team for the one-shot comic includes writer Delilah S. Dawson, penciler and inker Arianna Florean, layout artist Mario del Pennino, and additional artists Brent Schoonover, Ramon Rosanas, and Juni Ba, several of whom have worked on previous Star Wars comics for other publishers. The new comic is set before the events of the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, which will open on Memorial Day weekend (see “‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’”) and features the title characters teaming up with a group of Anzellan droidsmiths to travel through the lava tubes under Nevarro and neutralize a crashed pirate ship. The self-contained one-shot will go on sale on July 22, 2026, with covers by Rosanas, Schoonover, and Ba.
Mad Cave Studios announced in January that it would collaborate with Lucasfilm Publishing to produce Star Wars graphic novels for young readers under its Papercutz imprint (see “Papercutz to Publish ‘Star Wars’ Graphic Novels”).
