Synapses Games has announced the mind-reading party game Medium: The Hand of Fate, releasing in Q3.
In Medium: The Hand of Fate, players pair off and try to simultaneously declare the same connecting word that joins their two word cards, earning points based on how quickly they can arrive at the exact same word.
Two optional add-on modules are also included. Adding the ESP cards allow players to use special one-time abilities such as stealing another team’s points or banning opponents from using certain words. The Prediction module gives players a way to earn points between turns by predicting the how successful other players will be. A two-player variant is also included, allowing players to partner against Madame Fortuna to test their mind-reading abilities.
Medium: The Hand of Fate was created by Danielle Deley and Nathan Thornton, and is fully compatible with their 2019 versions, Medium and Medium: Second Sight. The game includes more than 250 cards, scoring tokens, and prediction tokens. It is intended for two to eight players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about 45 minutes. MSRP is $24.99.
Last year, Synapses acquired the rights to the card game Compile (see “Synapses Games Acquires Rights to Publish ‘Compile’ Game Series“).
