Z2 has signed with Ingram Publisher Services company Two Rivers Distribution for distribution to the book channel, including independent bookstores, major retailers, libraries, and specialty markets, the companies announced. The new deal begins on May 1 and replaces Z2’s previous relationship with Simon & Schuster Distribution Services.
Z2 President Josh Bernstein noted the impact for Z2. “We’ve always believed in meeting fans where they are—whether that’s in comic shops, record stores, or bookstores,” he said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Ingram’s global reach and Two Rivers’ expertise allow our books to show up in more places than ever. It means bigger shelves, broader reach, and fewer barriers between our work and fans.”
Z2’s line of music-related graphic novels and art books remains available through Lunar Distribution for comic stores, and via direct sales to retailers (see “Z2 Expands Direct-to-Retailers”). “It’s been going great,” a Z2 spokesperson said in response to our question about the direct-to-retailer program. “It really kicked into high gear after ComicsPRO and the response has been overwhelming.”
Z2 will release a graphic novel adapting the film “…And Out Comes the Wolf,” based on the Rancid album, this fall (see “Graphic Novel Inspired by Rancid”).
