Hegemonic Project Offers 'World Order'

Hegemonic Project Games has announced World Order: A Race for Global Hegemony, set to release in June along with two expansion sets, Diplomacy & Dominance and World in Turmoil.

World Order simulates great power relations in the modern world.  Set in 2010, it draws on real world events as it pits four global superpowers in competition to dominate the world stage:  The United States, China, Russia, and the European Union.  Each power has its own unique strengths which it must use to expand its influence through alliances, diplomacy, trade, and the threat of military action.  The game system is built around a combination of deck-building and area control to recreate the superpowers’ drive for global hegemony.

World Order is intended for two to four players, ages fourteen and up.  Games take between two and three hours to play. Comes with 1 game board, 4 player boards, 284 cards, 146 cardboard tokens, 101 printed wooden tokens, 94 wooden cubes, 28 acrylic cubes, and 4 player aids.  MSRP is $84.99.

The Diplomacy & Dominance expansion adds new challenges and options for the game, with additional ability cards and strategic assets for the superpowers to take advantage of.  New Superpower Objectives allow players to explore real-world strategies, while the Automa system allows non-player superpowers to join the competition.  This expansion adds 91 new cards and a dual-layer Automa board to the game.  MSRP is $24.99.

World in Turmoil adds 60 Event cards to the game, all drawn from real-world events that have occurred since 2010, including the Arab Spring, Brexit, US-China Trade Wars, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  This expansion adds a total of 87 new cards, an Events board, and 50 wooden cubes.  MSRP is $24.99.

Production of World Order was funded through a combination of Kickstarter and Gamefound campaigns in 2025 that combined attracted over €2,000,000 (around $2,260,000) from more than 13,000 backers.

In 2023, Hegemonic Project established itself with the launch of Hegemony: Lead Your Class to Victory (see “‘Hegemony:  Lead Your Class to Victory’ Heads to Retail”).
