New President, Vice-President at GAMA

The GAMA Board of Directors has elected officers, including a new President and Vice-President, as the organization’s Communications Director moves on, a source close to the situation confirmed to ICv2.

The election of officers was held by the board of directors, which had some new members after a recent election by the organization’s members (see “GAMA Announces 2026 Election Results”).  The new President of the organization is Meredith Placko, CEO of paint company Turbo Dork, replacing Nicole Brady of SAHM Reviews, who had held the position for the last two years (see “GAMA Election Results”).  Placko had previously been the organization’s Vice President (see “GAMA Announces Results”).

Ross Thompson, who was elected to the board in a special election to fill a vacant Media and Events Director seat last October (see “Thompson Wins”) was elected Vice President, replacing Placko.  Thompson recently moved to Critical Role as Integrated Marketing Manager (see “Critical Role Hires”).

The election of a new President for the organization comes after a contentious board meeting chaired by Brady at GAMA Expo in March at which “…there were members of the Board who were rude and disrespectful,” according to a statement released by the board.  “We expect the person leading the meetings to maintain order and insist upon decorum,” the statement continued (see “GAMA Apologizes”).

Meanwhile, Communications Director Eric J. Francis, who had held that position since August of 2025 and had been at GAMA since May of 2025, is leaving the organization this month to pursue a new opportunity.  Francis had been heading up the Communications team at GAMA, one of three teams the organization created last fall (see “People on the Move”).
