Miles Morales is back in his classic red and black costume in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1, by Ultimate Black Panther writer Bryan Edward Hill and Psylocke artist Nico Leon for what Marvel Comics is billing as “the next era” for the character.
Miles is back in Brooklyn after an eventful trip to the Ultimate Universe (see “Ultimate Miles Morales”), returning to the usual grind of school, family, and fighting supervillains, along with a potential new crush, but when a villain from his father’s past with S.H.I.E.L.D. arrives on the scene, all that is put in jeopardy. In a statement accompanying the announcement, Hill described the new story as “new villains, new allies, thrilling action and a real exploration of that essential struggle of being a hero and maintaining a life connected to others.”
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 will be released on August 12 with a cover by Simone Di Meo.
