Dark Horse Books, in collaboration with Marvel Games and Tribute Games, will release Marvel Cosmic Invasion – The Art of the Game, featuring art from the retro arcade-style game launched late last year. Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a beat-em-up console video game in which players control Marvel superheroes fighting to defeat Annihilus’ cosmic invasion in an adaptation of the “Annihilation” storyline from the mid-00s Marvel publishing event. The game was featured on a series of variant covers across the Marvel line in January and February (see “Preview: ‘Marvel Cosmic Invasion’ Variants”).
In addition to art from the game, the volume will also include level explorations and commentary from the artists. The 120-page hardcover will be released on August 4, 2026 at $29.99 MSRP.
