Catalyst Game Labs announced new BattleTech: Core Rulebook, which will be available in August 2026.
BattleTech: Core Rulebook will be the first core rulebook released in almost two decades years. The new rulebook is not a new edition of BattleTech, but a an updated rules set. The book contains the core rules that feature a few rules changes and streamlined rules sections to make battles run more smoothly. It also contains a comprehensive Missions section that allows players to build out different battles to play through.
The first of the two new boxed sets announced is the BattleTech: Starter Box. This entry level product is for novice MechWarriors that are looking to learn the basics of battle. It features two ilClan-era BattleMechs: Hammerhead and Kontio.
The second boxed set on its way to market is the BattleTech: Core Box. It comes with eight ready-to-play miniatures from different clans: the Hollander, the Rakshasa, the Solitaire, the Uziel, the Mad Cat Mk II, the Vulture Mk IV Prime, the Regent and the Eris.
Catalyst Game Labs will also release three BattleTech miniatures boxes into retail (see “Three ‘BattleTech’ Miniatures Boxes“).
