With DC Studios’ Supergirl film set to open in June 2026 (see “‘Supergirl’”), DC Comics has announced a Summer of Supergirl slate as well as a Supergirl takeover of Superman Day, April 18.
DC also spotlighted the upcoming anthology Supergirl: The World, an anthology of stories from creators around the world; the format is similar to last year’s Superman: The World (see “DC Announces ‘Summer of Superman’ Initiative”). The 184-page hardcover will be released simultaneously across all participating regions on June 2, 2026, with an MSRP of $24.99.
Here’s the Superman Day lineup:
- Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #1 Superman Day 2026 Special Edition, by Tom King, Biliquis Evely, and Mat Lopes, containing the first issue of the Eisner-nominated series that inspired the film; DC will also offer a foil-enhanced Special Edition with an MSRP of $9.99 and a blank sketch cover variant with an MSRP of $4.99.
- Supergirl: The World—Superman Day 2026 Special Edition, previewing two stories from the upcoming anthology.
- Supergirl #1 Superman Day 2026 Special Edition, by Sophie Campbell, reprints the first issue of Supergirl Vol. 1: Misadventures in Midvale, which will be released in March 2026.
- Action Comics #1 Facsimile Edition—Superman Day Release.
- Action Comics #252 Facsimile Edition—Superman Day Release, a reprint of the 1959 comic where Kara Zor-El made her first appearance.
- Superman’s Good Guy Gang: Follow the Leader #1—Superman Day 2026 Special Edition, an all-ages sampler previewing Supergirl’s Zoo-Per Heroes: Krypto’s Big Break and Superman’s Good Guy Gang: Follow the Leader.
- DC Finest Presents Superman: Time and Time Again #1 Superman Day 2026 Special Edition.
- Superman #1—Superman Day 2026 Special Edition, by Joshua Williamson and Jamal Campbell, a reprint of the first issue of the current ongoing series.
- All-Star Superman: The Deluxe Edition—Superman Day Exclusive, by Grant Morrison, Frank Quitely, and Jamie Grant, a deluxe hardcover that is exclusive to the direct market; MSRP is $39.99.
