Monte Cook Games launched a new edition of Numenera RPG onto BackerKit.
The latest edition of Numenera isn’t a standalone RPG, as it had been in the past (see “Monte Cook’s New RPG at over $300k“). This edition will be published as a game setting for the new Cypher core books that are currently in production. Players will need a Cypher Character Rulebook to play, and GMs will need a Cypher GM’s Guide to run a game of Numenera.
The BackerKit campaign offers up three new Numenera books: Numenera, Beasts of the Amber Archive, and The Catechism of Lore. The Numenera hardcover supplement offers players everything they need to create Numenera characters, extensive lore and setting information, and details on creatures, encounters, cyphers, artifacts, and adventures. The Beasts of the Amber Archive is bestiary for the Ninth World that has creature listings, lair maps, and more.
The Catechism of Lore contains a Numenera campaign. In this adventure, players will follow the path of the High Father Calaval, the first Amber Pope and Founder of the Order of Truth. This journey, if completed in its entirety, will allow players to unlock the gates of the Citadel of the Conduits and uncover the secrets within.
This BackerKit campaign includes a Retailer Pledge Level. For $199, they will receive $575 worth of the products offered during the campaign, including three copies of the Numenera RPG book (these books will be autographed) and two copies of each the Beasts of the Amber Archive and Catechism of Lore books.
