Third 'The Witcher' Board Game Raises Over $12 Million

The Witcher: Legacy, the third The Witcher board game from CD Project RED and Go On Board (see “New ‘The Witcher’ Board Game Unveiled”), raised over $12.3 million (converted from Euros at today’s exchange rate) from over 25,000 backers on Gamefound in a November-December campaign and ongoing Endgame phase.  That’s the biggest Gamefound campaign this year, and one of the largest ever on the platform.

As a result of passing the €10 million crowdfunding threshold, the game producers plan to release a narrative app with over 300,000 words of narration (in seven languages) that can be used with or instead of the campaign books.

CD Project RED and Go On Board released The Witcher: Path of Destiny in September (see “‘The Witcher: Path of Destiny’”), and The Witcher: Old World in 2023 (see “’The Witcher: Old World’”).  The Witcher: Legacy will be released in 2027.
