We round-up here the last of the Dynamite Entertainment announcements around New York Comic Con.
Dynamite will release ThunderCats Lost in Time, a one-shot special, in a mystery blind bag format in January, the company announced. The blind bag will feature one of four covers by Declan Shalvey, Enid Balam, Asessandro Ranaldi, and Cat Staggs, or rarer virgin or line art variants. The comic will be written by Ed Brisson, with art by Chris Campana.
In the story, the core team finds themselves on a dystopic future Sixth Earth, ruled by a police state that hunts ThunderCats, overrun by automaton robots and mass surveillance. See covers in the Gallery below.
Dynamite will launch a comic miniseries featuring The Nightmare Before Christmas in January. Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town will be written by Torunn Grønbekk, with art by Edu Menna, and covers by Jae Lee, Soo Lee, and Alan Quah, as well as photo covers from the movie.
The story features an unusual new creature from Sally’s creator, Dr. Finkelstein, who leaves Halloween Town with the three resident trick-or-treaters headed for Christmas Town. See the covers and interior art in the Gallery below. Dynamite released The Nightmare Before Christmas: Long Live the Pumpkin Queen graphic novel this summer (see “Dynamite to Publish NBX“).
Dynamite has acquired Jae Lee’s Hellshock property, including all media rights, the parties announced. The property was introduced in 1994 as an early non-partner property published by Image Comics; a second series was launched in 1997.
The comics star Daniel, a Nephilim of both angel and human parentage, and the never-ending struggles between Heaven and Hell and those caught in the middle. Dynamite plans to publish new collections of the original 1990s comics. See cover and artwork below.
Among other announcements, Dynamite announced a Darkwing Duck/Gargoyles crossover at New York Comic Con (see “Darkwing Duck/Gargoyles X-Over“).
