IDW Dark Announces New Horror Titles

IDW Dark, the horror imprint of IDW Publishing, has announced four new horror comic series releasing in the first half of 2026.  IDW Dark was launched a year ago in October 2024 (see “IDW Launches Horror Imprint“).

Smile: For the Camera #1 is due in February.  It’s written by Hannah Rose May and illustrated by Miriana Puglia with a cover by Skylar Patridge.

Set in 2005, the Smile Entity stalks a group of international models in New York for Fashion Month in a story set in the universe created by Parker Finn in the Paramount films Smile and Smile 2

A Quiet Place: Storm Warning #1 is by writer and layout artist Phil Hester and artist Ryan Kelly.  The monsters from the movie, which kill anything that makes noise, are lurking around a small island town in the Midwest.

Hester called the franchise, “suspenseful action, but with a genuinely moving drama at its core” as well as “an innovative formal exercise in visual storytelling without dialogue.”  The series will start in March 2026.

Also coming in March is The Exorcism at Buckingham Palace #1.  The sequel to The Exorcism at 1600 Penn is by the series creator and writer Hannah May Rose, joined by artist Kelsey Ramsay to show how demons invade the royal family’s home in London.  The new setting and cast are promised to provide a fresh jumping-on point for new readers.

The last of the four, due in July, is Operation: Iron Coffin #1. By writer Kenny Porter and artist Tyrell Cannon, the series is described as a “bold new take on Dracula”, adding action to the horror for fans of “Castlevania, Metal Gear, and Hellboy.”  A British bomber drops an iron coffin containing Dracula on a Nazi train carrying superweapons in order to stop Hitler from creating a vampire army. Source: ICv2
