Exclusive: People on the Move: Ignition Press Announces Four New Hires

Ignition Press has announced four new hires just ahead of NYCC.

Daniel Crary is coming on board as Director of Sales. Previously, Crary was Director of Marketing and Communications at Oni Press (see “New Hires and Promotion at Oni Press”) and Director of Community Engagement and Events at Vault Comics. He has also worked with nonprofits Binc, CBLDF, and The Hero Initiative, helping out with fund-raising projects.

New Marketing Manager Steph Hocutt joined Ignition in August 2025 and is responsible for marketing and publicity, working with Director of Marketing Bre Sarpy. Hocutt worked at BOOM! Studios for seven years, overseeing marketing and publicity on Lumberjanes, Something Is Killing the Children, and BRZRKR (see “Comics Industry Hires and Promotions”). After that she went to work at Penguin Random House, first as Associate Marketing Manager for the Direct Market Sales Team and then as Marketing Manager for the Inklore imprint.

Nicki Naff joined the team as Operations Manager in July; she comes to Ignition from Cintas, where she was New Account Coordinator for almost 14 years. Her experience includes supply chain logistics, data management, and customer service, and she will focus on wholesale and direct-to-consumer sales.

Assistant Editor Nora Ornstein, in a newly created position, will work under senior editor Maggie Howell and editor-in-chief Jamie Rich. Ornstein interned at The Daily Fandom and then at Humanoids in 2020-2021, then moved to freelance work in games and film. Source: ICv2
