There’s no denying it: anime has become a luxury in recent years. Blu-rays for Japan’s finest exports used to be relatively affordable, but like most things in life, their prices have increased recently. Fortunately, thanks to Amazon’s Prime Day 2025 sale, you can save on a massive library of anime Blu-rays from July 8-11. Many of these deals bring the Blu-rays back to pre-inflation prices. Of course, with so many discounts, it can be hard to comb through the listings to find the best, so for this year, we’ve compiled our favorite anime deals on full season Blu-ray sets and award-winning films into the list below.
Fans of the Shonen anime series can’t go wrong with beloved classic series like Bleach, Soul Eater, and Naruto, while more modern picks like My Hero Academia are also included. Castlevania: Nocturne is another solid pick, as it’s a bloody good adaptation of the hit Konami video games about hunting vampires and other supernatural monsters.
If you’re looking for something thought-provoking, Ergo Proxy and Akira are well regarded for their heady themes and groundbreaking animation. And for a more light-hearted watch, the endearingly absurd FLCL is on sale. Although it’s only six episodes, the charming coming-of-age tale is enjoyable and features an impressive punk rock soundtrack. On the movie side, you can grab notable action flicks like Afro Samurai, Berserk: The Golden Age, and Demon Slayer: The Movie.
We also included Arcane as it wears its anime influences on its sleeve. This series, set in the League of Legends universe, is lauded for its high production values, slick action, and surprisingly moving story. It’s a triumph of animation, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you can pick up either the standard or Limited Edition Blu-rays of the show’s monumental first season.
