James Tynion IV puts out a call for Donations to help get BODEGA going

In April of this year, a team of comics publishers, creators, and industry leaders including James Tynion IV, Bryce Gold, and Courtney Menard announced the launch of the Brooklyn Organization Dedicated to the Endurance of the Graphic Arts (BODEGA). The new non-profit’s inaugural initiative is the Brooklyn Expo of Comics (BEC), a two-day comics festival taking place November 14 and 15, 2026, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church.

Tynion has turned to his newsletter to put out a call to help kick it all off and while they wait for some more traditional fundraising drives to kick off, merch to debut, and their initial publication is released.

He’s asking for folks to chip in $5 to help support BODEGA and help it get off the ground.
