Several new anime series have made a splash in the last couple of years, with Dandadan considered one of the biggest breakout hits. The second season of the critically acclaimed series is headed to Blu-ray in July, and like its first home media release, fans can choose between a standard Blu-ray for $35 and a $65 deluxe version loaded with extras.
Dandadan Season 2: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray

The Collector’s Edition Blu-ray includes all 12 episodes from the second season across two discs. On-disc special features include scene breakdowns, behind-the-scenes featurettes, clean opening and closing credit sequences, and trailers. It also comes with a 76-page booklet of illustrations, three sticker sheets, and is bundled inside a slipcase with exclusive cover art of the show’s cast. Audio options include English and Japanese dubs, with optional subtitles.

Dandadan Season 2: Standard Edition Blu-ray
$35 | Releases June 30
The standard Blu-ray lacks physical extras but includes all the on-disc special features listed above. It also has a different cover referencing the Evil Eye storyline.
If you haven’t seen it yet, Dandadan is best described as The Exorcist meets the X-Files. Set in a world where the occult and aliens are real, the series follows Momo and Okarun as they battle evil yokai and cosmic invaders using their paranormal powers. Along the way, they gather allies, including fellow students and an interstellar refugee. The second season covers the Cursed House, Evil Eye, and Kaiju arcs.
You can still catch up on the first season with both collector’s and standard edition Blu-rays available now through Amazon. The Dandadan: Season One Collector’s Edition has dropped to $41.22 and includes unique box art, a 32-page art book, art cards, and a sticker. The standard Blu-ray edition is $24.49. Both versions include all 12 episodes and the same on-disc special features like interviews, clean credit sequences, and scene breakdowns.
Dandadan’s next season won’t be out for a while, so the best way to keep up to date with the show is to check out the original manga by Yukinobu Tatsu. Not only is each story imaginative, but the level of detail on each page makes it hard to fathom just how Tatsu manages to crack out a fresh chapter every week of this series. So far, 18 volumes of the manga have been translated into English and published, with more on the way.
