Wizards of the Coast President John Hight will step down after just two years serving in the role.

Hight’s departure was revealed via an SEC filing by Hasbro, Inc. on July 27, 2026, which stated that he had entered into a Transitional Advisory Services Agreement.  According to the filing, Hight will continue to serve as WotC’s President until September 1, 2026.  Starting September 2, 2026, he will serve in a year-long advisory role for WotC, that ends on September 2, 2027 (or in the case of his employment being terminated) where he will work directly with the next CEO of the company.

Hight became President of WotC in July 2024, coming over from the video game industry (see “New WotC President“).  He took over the position of WotC President after Cynthia Williams resigned the position in April 2026 with short notice (see “Wizards of the Coast Resigns“); Williams moved on to run Funko (see “WotC Prez to Funko“).
