ICv2 visited Comicopolis on Saturday July 18, 2026 held at White Oak Library District: Lockport Branch located at 121 E. 8th St. Lockport, Illinois.
This annual library comic con has been running for seven years now. Local library shows have been on the rise since the end of the pandemic, and are quickly growing number across the U.S. These shows offer a completely different vibe than regional and national shows; they are more family-friendly because they don’t have overwhelming numbers of attendees and tend to highlight the work local comic book creators. These shows also offer safe spaces for cosplay, trading of collectibles, and of course, vendors selling comics and comic art.
Comicopolis offered an array of things to see and do for comic book fans and families, including cosplay, live stage performances, two vendor areas, classic cars on display and more.
