SDCC 2026: Magma Comix Flows to the show with Creator Signings, Merch, and an Explosive Panel for Fans!

Magma Comix is returning to its hometown show, San Diego Comic-Con International, July 23rd – 27th! Join the Magma team and a variety of talented Magma and guest comic-book creators at booth #1709 for exciting creator showcases, signings, exclusive new and limited variants, pre-signed merchandise and more, celebrating both Magma Comix and the larger Independent comic community.

Magma will host a panel Thursday evening, where a number of top editors from Marvel, DC, Image, IDW, Mad Cave and other independent publishers, along with strong crowdfunding comic publishers, will detail the ins and outs of how creators can either approach existing publishers to print their creator-owned material, or harness the power of crowdfunding to build a direct audience for their comic books to the masses. Magma Publisher Denton J. Tipton moderates this panel on Thursday, July 23rd from 5-6pm in Room 25ABC. 

Each day presents a different schedule of events, including signings by Magma creators Eamon Winkle and Denton J. Tipton, as well as the crew from Black Rose Comics, Norrin J. Powell, Stewards of Darkness; Ryan “ZOKE” Preece, Timepiece, and Briana Bauman, Phantom Fox, legendary comic creators Mark Texeira and Fabrice Sapolsky with Kristal Adams.

In addition to signings, Magma is stocking trade paperbacks and collector’s items (such as exclusive Event Variants and newly released Metal Cover variants) for sale at its booth, along with the opportunity to snag a Magma Art Lithograph or a Shawn Lee-designed Magma Metal Blind Box for the discerning collector. 

For fans of A.J. Mendez or Aimee Garcia, you can buy PRE-SIGNED Day of the Dead Girl products, including some products NEVER BEFORE AVAILABLE in comic book stores, such as a Foil Slipcase Hardcover Edition, behind-the-scenes Grimoire comic, or a new variant of Day of the Dead Girl #1, while supplies last!

Magma Comix Presents: Pitching Your Vision and Developing IP

Thursday, July 23, 5-6 p.m. | Room 25ABC
Whether you’re dreaming of pitching the Big Two, or building your own universe from scratch, this panel pulls back the curtain. Industry veterans John Barber (Marvel, IDW, PUG-W) and Joseph Illidge (DC, Fairsquare Graphics) are bringing the inside knowledge from Marvel and DC. Kristen Simon (Editor, Mad Cave)  and Tom Waltz (Former Creative Director, IDW) will break down exactly what Mad Cave and IDW want to see from new projects, whether you’re pitching something original or chasing a licensed property. And if indie publishing and Kickstarter are calling your name, David Hedgecock (Owner, FunTimeGo) and Shannon Denton (Monster Forge, Image, Marvel) have cracked that code and they’re ready to share it. Moderated by Magma Publisher Denton J. Tipton, this is the panel aspiring creators can’t afford to miss.
