GAMA: The Tabletop Game Association and the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design revealed the Origins Awards 2026 Fan Favorite Game of the Year on July 1, 2026.
The Fan Favorite Game of the Year was Shard Bugs TCG published by Shard Bugs LLC, designed by Luis Silva, Nathan Pelchat, and Greg Sakoff with art by Kundu Del Castillo. This game is a fantasy TCG where players take command of intelligent bugs that are devoted to one of three cosmic avatars, and do battle to reach 20 devotion and take control over the field of play. The game is currently being distributed via Southern Hobby, who has the first four booster sets up on their site for retailers to order: Bug-Inning, First Bounty, Infestation, and Terraform. Pre-constructed decks and bundles are also available.
The Fan Favorite Game of the Year wasn’t initially unveiled with the rest of the 2026 Origins Awards winners (votes were still being counted).
