Complete Gem Mint 10 'Pokemon TCG' 1E Base Set Hammers at Over $1.2 Million

A complete Gem Mint 10 Pokemon TCG 1E Base Set sold at Heritage Auctions for over $1.2 million dollars.

Heritage’s most recent TCG and Manga Signature Auction, which occurred from June 26-27, 2026 (see “Millions in ‘Pokemon TCG’“), brought in a total of over $7.8 million. The largest Pokemon TCG sales, aside from the Gem Mint 10 set of 1E Base Set cards, included a set of No. 1-3 Trainer 2nd Tournament Pikachu Trophy cards that sold for $875,000, a PSA 8.5 Pokemon “Pikachu” Illustrator Unnumbered CoroCoro Comics Promo that sold for $843,750, and a PSA Gem Mint 10 Charizard #4 1E Holo that sold for $465,500.

Some of the Pokemon TCG  lots featuring collector grail cards sold below the top-end numbers at this auction. A Mint 9 version of the Illustrator Coro Coro Comics Promo sold for $1.4 million at Heritage in March 2026, which is over $550,000 more than the PSA 8.5 version in this auction; a 39% discount for a half grade lower card seems like a steep dropoff. The Charizard #4 card sold for $84,500 below its all-time high of $550,000 reached in 2025 (see “Prices Rebalance“).

In the realm of Magic: The Gathering lots, a Beta Artist Proof Set went for $575,000. This sale is significant because artist proof cards are often hard to price as they don’t come up at auction too frequently (let alone a whole set of them). A PSA 8 Alpha Black Lotus went for an even $100,000, and a sealed box of Arabian Nights sold for $225,000. The top manga sale was a BGS 3.5 Shonen Jump #1 (1968) that hammered at $37,500.
