How do I get a link to the special performance?

The special Ed Sheeran performance will be accessible through the Pokémon GO app starting Monday, November 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. PST through November 30 at 1:00 p.m. PST. To access the video of the performance, you will need to obtain the special link from one of two ways.
Tap on a Sponsored Gift balloon within Pokémon GO. If you are having difficulty finding the Sponsored Gift balloon, be sure to check your Settings and make sure you have opted into this feature by selecting the “Show Sponsored Gifts” option. Please note that Sponsored Gift balloons are not available in all locations. Trainers who do not see Sponsored Gift balloons in Pokémon GO can still access the special performance via the link in the in-app news.
Note about child accounts: Trainers with Child accounts will not receive Sponsored Gift balloons, even if permissions for accessing sponsored content are granted through the Niantic Kids Parent Portal or Pokémon Trainer Club website. Trainers who log into Pokémon GO using these accounts can access the special performance via the in-app news.
Read the in-app news. The link to the special performance will also be available via the in-app news, as well as additional details about in-app bonuses and special Pokémon appearances.
We are making a link to the video available through Sponsored Gift balloons and in-app news in Pokémon GO as part of a special experience for Trainers.

How can I get an offer code?

As part of the celebration around the special performance, an offer code will be available for Trainers to redeem for a special avatar item. Each account can only redeem an offer code for this avatar item once, although multiple codes for this item may be available.
Offer codes can be obtained via social media, in-app news, via the Pokémon GO website, and on the site hosting the performance. Learn more about how to redeem offer codes.
Please note that all special performance offer codes expire after 11/30/2021.

Check out the video in Pokémon GO, and catch Water-type first partner Pokémon, including Squirtle wearing sunglasses.

Pokémon GO has seen its share of musical Pokémon, like the lyrical Jigglypuff and the melodic Meloetta. But on Monday, November 22, 2021, a different star will take the spotlight with a special performance available in Pokémon GO. Grammy-winning English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran celebrates his love of Pokémon with a video for Pokémon GO Trainers, and you’ll also be able to participate in a special in-game event from Monday, November 22, 2021, to Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

Sheeran’s performance will feature some of his classic hits as well as songs from his new album, including “Perfect,” “Bad Habits,” “Overpass Graffiti,” “Thinking Out Loud,” “First Time,” and “Shivers.” During the accompanying event, Sheeran’s favorite Pokémon, Squirtle, will be appearing in the wild wearing its signature sunglasses. And because the singer always chooses a Water-type first partner Pokémon to accompany him on video game adventures, some of those Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild, too.

This celebration of Water-type Pokémon will also feature themed stickers. And to help you catch and evolve more Pokémon, you can pick up a free one-time Event Box from the shop that contains a Lure Module, a Metal Coat, a King’s Rock, and 10 Pinap Berries.

Rock on, Trainers!
