Doctor Who comics planned for release this summer from Titan Comics will be part of Circuit Breaker, a massive multi-platform story, the BBC announced. Circuit Breaker will tell a single story sequentially across websites, comics, Doctor Who Magazine, audiobooks, videogames, kids and adult prose books, and a Blue-ray release.

The first Titan Comics release in the event, Doctor Who Circuit Breaker #1: Adversary of the Daleks, will street on July 8, following the introduction of the Circuit Breaker storyline on the Doctor Who UNIT website on June 25.

Written by Dan Watters and Dulce M. Montoya, with art by Roberta Ingranata, Sami Kivela, and Valentina Bianconi, the special 48-page $6.99 issue will feature cardstock covers: A cover by Jay Anacleto, along with photo, Robert Sienecki, Flops Takeover and Flops Takeover Colour Your Own variants.

Following Adversary of the Daleks, the story will be carried forward by installments in Doctor Who Magazine and BBC Audiobooks, leading to the second Titan Comics release: Dawn of the Daleks.  It will also be written by Dulce M. Montoy and Dan Watters, with art by Robert Ingranata and Sami Kivela.

Additional installments will follow through August from East Side Games, the UNIT website, Puffin (kids book), a Blu-ray release, Penguin Random House (novel), and audio stories.

The story starts in UNIT’s Black Archive facility, where familiar objects have been pulled through time and space carrying a dangerous energy signature.  Osgood, the Head of the Black Archive (played by Ingrid Oliver) and her assistant Andrew (played by Omari Douglas) reach out to Doctor Who (Jo Martin. Trust between UNIT and Doctor Who begins to erode as they wonder whether this is the Time Lord they thought they knew.

Circuit Breaker is the third multi-platform Doctor Who event; the first was Time Lord Victorious back in 2020 (see “Titan Reveals Part in Transmedia Story”).
