We visited Comic Envy in Asheville, North Carolina on Friday, April 17, 2026, a full-service comic store nestled in a strip on a well-traveled street. We asked the store clerk what distinguished the store, and they quickly answered that it was their focus on a wide customer base, including adults with a variety of tastes and kids. The store emphasizes the local community and a friendliness to all, billing itself as “Asheville’s Family Comic Book Store.”
Comic Envy was founded in 2008 and current owner Allison Jenkins, who was a longtime employee, took over as owner in 2021.
