Handelabra Games, a digital tabletop company, acquired the Greater Then Games brand and Sentinel Comics from Flat River Group.
In April 2025, Flat River Group suspended work on all Greater Than Games products and reduced their staff (see “Victim of Tariffs“). The future of Greater Than Games’ Sentinels of the Multiverse titles had been in question, until recently, when Handelabra Games stepped up to make a bid for these titles. The deal includes only the Greater Than Games brand and Sentinel Comics IPs (Sentinels of the Multiverse, Sentinel Comics RPG, Sentinel Tactics, Sentinels Miniatures, and Galactic Strike Force); it deal does not include the Spirit Island titles (see “‘Spirit Island’“).
One of the more interesting aspects this deal is that Handelabra is a digital tabletop company, and is, according to the press release disclosing the deal, “not interested in becoming a tabletop publisher.” Their primary reason for making this deal was to “protect” their digital business by adding the Sentinel Comics IP to their portfolio. The company hinted at outsourcing the production of tabletop versions of Sentinel Comics’ games to a third party publisher.
