Despite a 2018 commitment not to collect the Barrier comic series into a single volume, Image Comics will release Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin’s Barrier as a single volume in May.
Barrier originally ran on Vaughan’s Panel Syndicate and was nominated for an Eisner for best digital comic (see “The 2018 Eisner Award Nominees”). Image published the print edition in 2018 as a five-issue weekly in a deluxe landscape format featuring cardstock covers (see “Brian K. Vaughan Crosses the ‘Barrier’”). The creators originally planned not to collect the comics into a single volume; the comics were released in a slipcase edition the same year (see “’Barrier’ Gets Slipcase Edition”).
The 208-page Barrier trade paperback will be released on May 20 in comic stores and June 16 in the book channel at $19.99 MSRP.
