Wizards of the Coast announced changes to the WPN program on March 4, 2026.
The main change that impacts LGS is that the WPN Premium designation will have a tier-based framework applied to it. WPN Premium had classically been a singular designation; stores had either met the criteria to be a WPN Premium store or not. The new structure will place WPN Premium stores into tiers that reflect the store’s sustained performance over time. The changes make benefits scalable with specific benefits being assigned to specific tiers.
According to WPN Benefits Overview chart, recently released by WotC after the announcement, there are six tiers of WPN store designations. Tiers 1 through 3 appear to contain most of the benefits that WPN stores were receiving just for consistently running events. Tier 4 offers retailers marketing materials promotional credits, and Tier 5 offers benefits associated with what is currently offered to WPN Premium stores. Tier 6 seems like an entirely new top-end tier that offers benefits like Legendary Badging on the store locator and comped MagicCon tickets for store staff and owners.
Dungeons & Dragons events were also listed as part of this new structure with two tiers listed for store designations. Both of these tiers seemed to only outline lower tier rewards. As the transition to the new structure occurs, WPN Premium stores will maintain their current benefits. The updated WPN structure will launch towards the end of 2026.
