Vol. 1 of Gachiakuta topped the list of the Top 20 best-selling Adult graphic novels according to Circana (formerly NPD) BookScan data for January 2026 (1/4/26 – 1/31/26) provided to ICv2.
The Top 20 chart bears out what Kodansha’s Ben Applegate said at ComicsPRO: The top-selling manga of 2026 so far is Vol. 1 of Gachiakuta (see “2025 Was Kodansha’s Best Year in Comic Shops“). This volume was also one of the top 20 best-sellers for all of 2025 in the book channel (see “Full Year 2025 BookScan“) and in ComicHub (see “Top 20 Manga in Comic Stores“). Vols. 2 and 9 are in the Top 20 as well. Vol. 1 has been in the Top 20 every month staring with July 2025, when the anime adaptation premiered.
That volume knocked Jujutsu Kaisen off the top of the chart, but the most recent volume is at number 2, followed by Vol. 1, and there are five volumes of this series altogether in the Top 20.
Vol. 5 of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run is at number 4, and Vol. 1 is at number 18. The anime of this arc will premiere on Netflix on March 19 (see “2026 Anime Lineup“).
The shonen series Phantom Busters makes its debut on the chart with Vol. 2, which is interesting as Vol. 1 did not make the best-seller list when it was released in October (see “VIZ Announces“). The series does not yet have an anime.
