Instates New Co-Heads of the Studio; Relegates ‘Star Wars: Shatterpoint’ to Specialist Core Game Status

Atomic Mass Games announced that their studio, under parent company Asmodee, has restructured in order to support their flagship lines.

The restructuring brings the studio under the control of two co-heads, Will Shick and Brandon Anderson, replacing Simone Elliott (see “Atomic Mass Head of Studio“).  Will Shick was previously the Head of Product Development at AMG (see “Changes to the ‘Star Wars’ Miniatures Lines“) and Brandon Anderson was AMG’s Product Line Manager.  Their primary focus will be on supporting AMG’s flagship miniatures games titles, Star Wars: Legion and Marvel Crisis Protocol. AMG has also relegated Star Wars: Shatterpoint to the designation of specialist core game line, which will maintain its availability for the near future, but will likely not see too many new releases.  AMG’s resources will  instead be directed into growing and expanding Star Wars: Legion 2E.

“Our goal is to build a stronger, more focused studio that can better cater to the needs of our players,” said David Preti, Head of Crowdfunding Strategy and Miniature Lines at asmodee.  “Realignment requires changes that can be challenging for our team and our community.  But this step allows us to invest more deeply in the games our players care about most and to build a more sustainable foundation for the future.”

The relegation of Star Wars: Shatterpoint to specialist core game line status could be the beginning of a phase out of the line.  Shatterpoint’s situation sounds strikingly similar to that of Star Wars: Armada back in 2021 (see “‘Star Wars: Armada’ on Autopilot“), which was later phased out a few years later in 2024 with X-Wing (see “Ends Development of Two ‘Star Wars’ Miniatures Games“).
